The DEEP-BioBank will serve as a supplier of biological samples of deep-sea marine invertebrates (Sponges and Corals) for academic and industrial research. All the samples in the catalog can be ordered. Biomass in the collection is preserved in various ways (Dry, 96% ethanol, frozen -20ºC, RNAlater -20ºC). The DEEP-BioBank provides a genetic material supply service, offering high-quality genomic DNA extracts and sequences from sponges and corals of the collection. For more information, please send an email to: deep.biobank@ciimar.up.pt.
The DEEP-BioBank provides biomaterials in the form of sponge fibers and/or spicules and coral sclerites extracted from sponges and corals of the collection. For more information, please send an email to: deep.biobank@ciimar.up.pt.
The DEEP-BioBank offers taxonomic identification of sponge and corals not included in the collection. This identification includes the use of morphological analyses (external/internal), as well as molecular (DNA sequencing). For more information, please send an email to: deep.biobank@ciimar.up.pt.

The DEEP-BioBank is open to deposition of biological samples (Porifera and/or Cnidaria), to be included in the catalog to be available as biological resources for academia and industrial researchers.
